Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

A family member advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
