One of those lessons was to involve fans participating early, and the developers started exclusive fan playtests not long ago.

Another missing ingredient from the last game was a solo experience, which has been restored for this release.

Criterion creative lead Fas Salim is the person tasked with "ensuring those missions are as enjoyable and compelling as feasible for the players."

Regardless of allegations that the scale of the game had put a strain on the multiple teams collaborating internationally to build the title, he is positive about the endeavor.

"Collaborating with different backgrounds, varied experiences, it's a really engaging setting to be engaged with on a regular basis," he says.

"This whole approach has been a fresh take but something very thrilling because we are working with team members from internationally."

As for the expectation on the team, the director states: "We experience demand but at the same time it's exciting.

"We're dealing with a big venture. It's likely the largest that most of us have ever been involved in."

Emerging Artist Brings Fresh Perspective
