Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four major tournaments during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her remaining competitions of the year due to a medical condition that has affected her over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was due to play in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover before starting next year's training.

These plans will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

Raducanu required blood pressure checks during her first-round match versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the final set in the match with Zhu owing to back discomfort that has troubled her at times this year.

Those results signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

The player achieved 28 victories during 2025 and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way before losing in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions late this year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
