The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that draws so many fans into the NFL
This outcome could have created things up for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their eight and two competitors
Over in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to address
The Buffalo squad had won seven in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and performance
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the squad's initial first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns but running back De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Containing the league's best rushing attack was also key, with Cook and company recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the year and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5 yard average
Additionally there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute drive yielded no points, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into a touchdown just two plays
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Josh Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've seen this year
Miami have demonstrated a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East
Spotlight - Patriots See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the New England, they're among three 8-2 teams in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but are they the top team?
You can pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the lesser sides, with only five of their combined 24 victories coming against teams with a positive record - and one example was the Colts defeating the Denver
Denver defeated the champion Eagles in Philly and are kings of the final quarter while Indy can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their primtime success in Buffalo seems like a statement
Their two defeats came in new head coach Mike Vrabel's first three contests, with seven consecutive wins, just like the Broncos, since then - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to prepare was significant
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he definitely earns point for courage after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa but persevering to guide his team to victory
The defensive unit is solid and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22mph this season on his first score
Although you can debate who 'the top team' is statistically, the Patriots should be favourites to end with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just one game against a winning team, albeit a huge one against the Bills
Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Chiefs to face two times, the Chargers (who might also compete for first place but face the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to contend with. There's a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is open for a shock number one position in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Prepare for Week 11 Showdown
Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three eight and two sides are NFC West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who each put up forty points to go to 7-2 ahead of next week's Hollywood blockbuster game between the pair in LA
Both have won four in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units allowing under 20 points a contest
Each could realistically be without a loss as well - particularly the Los Angeles as their pair of losses occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a potentially winning kick with the last kick blocked and returned by the Eagles for a touchdown
Seattle were also defeated to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before falling to the last kick of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they are truly two of the top teams in the NFL
The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year so far
Player of the Week - Taylor
Taylor might be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Berlin - running for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding another 42 {receiving yards
