Following a long period of anticipation, the BR mode for Battlefield 6 is officially releasing. The latest talk suggesting its arrival would happen alongside the first season were true. Fans can dive into the gameplay starting in just a day.
The New Season Introducing a New Map, Game Type, and Arsenal
In tandem with the battle royale addition, the new season is also kicking off. It adds a new map, a fresh game type, and new weapons. What's more, the Redacted Sector is making its debut. An embedded preview will be released at go-live, offering fans a taste of what's to come.
Free-to-Play Access Makes the Mode Accessible to Any Player
Possibly the key announcement is that this new experience will be free-to-play. Much like established titles, you don't have to buy the main title to play. A number of gamers have already tried pre-release builds of the experience. Those tests were conducted in Battlefield Labs, which the team described as their largest player partnership project.
The heart-pounding excitement during encounters with enemy players is unmatched in other battle royale. It's like a true survival situation, and you actually care if you make it or not.
Although I was a critic previously, I'm now a fan of the BR mode after playing it.
These first feedback from players have been very positive. Of course, the gameplay may have changed over the last couple of months in terms of game balance and tempo. Still, early signs are strong that Redsec could be a real alternative to popular titles. Many are expecting that the best guns from the original Battlefield 6 will carry over in the new mode.
